Pelvic Tilt

INTRODUCTION
I developed the "3/32nd Solution" as an aid to good posture. I was a man who walked with the aid of a cane for over fifteen years, from the time I was 21 years old till age 35. I had terrible posture problems. This is not a concept that came out of a well funded medical research project, but years of my own trail and error. My original motivation was to find a way out of physical pain and to simply be able to walk correctly without the aid of a cane. Eventually, thru the successful application of my "3/32nd Solution" concept I was able to compete in 100 mile inline skate races, run a six minute mile, and do multiple squats with over 250 lbs. OUNDATION OF THEORY (BASICS)
Humans evolved to be structurally asymmetrical to promote right-hand dominance. Most people have arms and legs of equal lengths. but move imperfectly due to the TILT OF THE PELVIS and twisting in the spine. Pelvic tilt makes the right leg functionally shorter than the left leg. The twisting of the spine (scoliosis) flattens the lower back and contributes to the deterioration of the disks. Originally we walked barefoot on shifting surfaces of rock, earth, and sand. In the modern world we walk with shoes on roads and streets of smooth flat asphalt and concrete. This creates a terrible standing posture because our natural asymmetry is not absorbed by our hard and perfect environment and can become unhealthily exaggerated with age, causing cumulative injuries. There is no way to untwist a twisting spine or correct an overly tilted pelvis. short of drastic surgery. The 3/32nd Solution was developed to allow a person with scoliosis to move as if it their spine was perfectly straight and achieve good posture. It enables the person who transitions weight with force over the right leg only to transition weight with force over the left leg as well. The ability to transition weight with equal force over either leg is the foundation of athletic grace and power.

TEST YOUR POSTURE: IS IT GOOD OR BAD?
Here are several tests I developed to determine whether your would benefit from the use of the 3/32nd Solution inserts . Remember good posture is key to balance. We perform these tests daily in our two San Francisco locations. You can try them at home for yourself.

FLOOR TEST
Lie down on your back , stretch-out and relax. When you look at your legs, does your right leg appear shorter than your left leg? If it does it is probably due to pelvic tilt and even a twisting of the spine. The legs are most likely equal in length. When lying prone the right hip moves upward, allowing the lower back to relax. The 3/32nd Solution concept enables the lower back to relax while standing up.
